Airfields are notoriously cold, and Nympsfield's hilltop setting means that warm clothes are essential, even on sunny days! Always better to have too much clothing than too little. No nakedness please.
Also, it's always better to have too much food (if that even makes sense) - there's a great little Italian Cafe at the airfield (Giuseppe's Gourmet) where you can get lunch, but snacks are highly recommended.
